Words from my daughter's mouth overheard in the car on the way to school:
"...Midnight Special...the first DVD is only $9.95 but I bet all of the others are more expensive because they rope you in and you want to buy more..."
My daugher is a real fan of infomercials, especially the mega-collection music kind. You know the ones: "Get the ENTIRE decade of the 1970s on 10 discs for only 149.95! You won't find these songs all together anywhere else for this price!!" I suppose they're probably right. But maybe it's too much of a good thing to have the hits keep rolling one after the other: Hey, it's Donna Summer!, Blondie!, The Bee Gees!, ABBA! After listening to all of that I might emerge from my house one day wearing three different kinds of plaid and that would be very strange wouldn't it?
Anyway, my daughter's latest infomusicmercial obsession is this one. We actually watch it when it comes on. Are we the only ones? I have to admit that these montage masterpieces can be catchy as the commercial loops and the songs repeat, and repeat...and repeat. I mean, you haven't lived until you've been able to sing the refrain of Play That Funky Music 5 or 6 times. And, yes, I have done this. Have you?

Beegees and Abba together? Definitely a keeper! I do it all the time. Especially with grocery store ads on T.V. Amir has warned me that he does not want to hear me sing, "Albertsons- it's YOUR store!" one more time.
Wow. You've totally sold me.
